BLUEWATER INC. TO LINK ITS WATER PIPE WORK TO UN FUND FOR CLEAN WATER
March 25, 2010
NEEDHAM – Bluewater CEO Daniel Potter announced today that his pipe and septic service company will celebrate World Water Week throughout the coming year by donating one dollar to UNICEF’s Tap Project for every foot of drinking water pipe the company repairs or rehabilitates in 2010. Bluewater, which operates facilities in Hanover, Lawrence, Leominster, Westborough and West Yarmouth, uses no-dig technology to restore and strengthen pipes from the inside out.
“We saw an item in the Needham Times that second and fourth graders at a local school were supporting UNICEF’s efforts to make clean water accessible to millions of children around the world, and we were inspired to get involved ourselves,” Potter said. “This just seems like a natural fit for a company like ours that works in water infrastructure and is committed to advanced environmental practices.”
Bluewater serves commercial, residential and governmental markets with products and services in potable (drinking) water piping, steam piping, drains and septic systems. “Whether we’re working inside a building or underground, all our techniques are designed to conserve water and energy, and to be less disruptive to daily life,” said Potter. “Water is a precious resource we can’t afford to take for granted – but much of our current water infrastructure, both public and private, is old and poorly maintained. As we work to do a better job managing water and protecting the environment here in New England, we want to contribute to the same goal on a global scale.”
“I have to give a lot of credit to the kids at Needham’s Hillside School and to the Green Needham Collaborative,” said Potter. “They gave us the idea to do this, and I thank them for their commitment to improving and protecting our global water supply.” Bluewater will make quarterly donations to UNICEF based on worked performed throughout 2010.
