NEEDHAM – Bluewater CEO Dan Potter announced today that the company’s Board of Directors had elected Dr. James L.J. Nuzzo of Chestnut Hill, MA as Chairman of the Board, effective May 11, 2010. Nuzzo is a founding partner in The Colchester Group, which provides early stage private equity financing and develops corporate governance structures for emerging companies. His professional background also includes service as then Vice President George H.W. Bush's Deputy Director of Policy and as Special Assistant in the Office of the Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the Reagan Administration. While his institutional clients have included the National Association of Securities Dealers, the U.S. EPA, and the U.S. Department of Defense, he is perhaps best known to the general public for his work as an on-air political analyst for New England Cable News Network and NPR affiliate WBUR-FM in Boston. Nuzzo holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University, a medical doctorate from Georgetown University and a juris doctor degree from Harvard Law School.

“I have been in the equity financing and entrepreneurial start-up business for more years than I like to think about, but I have never been more excited about the possibilities for an emerging company,” said Nuzzo. “No other water infrastructure company offers a more extensive array of proven technologies in trenchless pipe rehabilitation and septic service.  Bluewater’s products and services offer tremendous potential to restore aging water infrastructure using technology that is less expensive, less disruptive and less time-consuming than conventional excavation and replacement methods.  Bluewater also has a strong and growing base in the commercial and residential septic services sector.  And from the beginning, I have been deeply impressed by the fact that all of bluewater’s technologies are designed to conserve water and save energy.  It’s a thoroughly green company at a time when both the private and public sectors are looking for cost-effective ways to improve their environmental performance and to promote a more sustainable approach to economic growth.”

“For all of us at bluewater, it means a lot that Jim has agreed to serve as chairman,” said Potter.  “It’s a validation of our promise as a growing company, and it gives us another experienced and dynamic leader in corporate development.  When I founded bluewater in 2006, I saw a clear opportunity to develop a successful water infrastructure company based on better and greener technology for trenchless pipe rehabilitation and septic service – and that opportunity has been clearly demonstrated even in an era of economic turmoil.  Jim is going to be a valuable partner in helping bring bluewater’s positive message and superior technology to the attention of customers and investors alike.  This is a big day for the company – and our entire industry.”

With facilities in Hanover, Lawrence, Leominster, Westborough and West Yarmouth, bluewater offers trenchless solutions for potable (drinking) water, wastewater, steam and chiller systems throughout the Northeast and is a leading provider of septic, grease trap and drain services to commercial and residential clients throughout New England. The company’s latest addition to its business lines is bluesteam™, a proprietary ceramic-epoxy lining used to repair and rehabilitate lo-pressure, hi-temperature steam, chemical and industrial pipes.  More information about bluesteam and other bluewater technologies is available at the company’s website, www.bluewatercorp.com.
